La Palma can be found at the west of the Canary Islands, and is often also called the Green Island or Isla Verde. This island offers areas of wild nature as well as some others where calm and relaxation prevail. Overall, this is one of the most peaceful Canary Islands’ areas due to the fact that a less amount of tourists arrives to it, turning it into a great choice for those who wish to relax.

It is no coincidence that this island is known as the green island. It owes this name to the great variety of vegetation it shows, in the surface as well as in the water. This way, all those who love viewing exotic plants and vegetation in general can have a great time in this area of the Canary islands, no matter if they wish to enjoy them on the ground or under the water.

La Palma´s landscape is another very attractive factor due to the uniqueness of the elements it mixes. In this area, visitors can view volcanic cones near to green ravines. This landscape also contains amazing mountains along with beautiful beaches, offering a very interesting combination of nature elements.

Due to the prevalence of green wild areas, this island does not attract a great amount of tourists and therefore offers a calm environment to those who visit it. This way, those who go to La Palma can enjoy a relaxing place along with meeting very interesting nature elements.

The weather in La Palma ranges in a spring temperature all the year, being ideal for those who rather less extreme climates than summer like ones. The rest of the Canary Islands’ areas tend to be a little warmer and more summer-like, while the western side is more moderate.

The center of this island and maybe its main attraction is the Caldera de Taburiente volcano which has a diameter of 9 km. The roof of this volcano collapsed 400.000 years ago causing it to be the way it is nowadays. Visitors can view rocks at the bottom of this crater which are pieces of the collapsed roof.
